“Strength-Based, Person-Centered Care for Every Stage of Life”
Welcome! I’m Fernando Ornelas, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I’m here to provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and valued. I am bilingual in Spanish, so I can support you in the language that feels most comfortable. My passion for this work comes from my own life experiences and the challenges I’ve overcome, which help me connect with you in a meaningful and compassionate way.
“Strength-Based, Person-Centered Care for Every Stage of Life” is at the heart of my work, supporting individuals across the lifespan from children and teens to adults and seniors. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and understood. I am culturally sensitive and experienced in working with diverse individuals and families. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, behavioral challenges, or life transitions, I provide creative, individualized care tailored to your strengths, goals, and unique journey.
I can also help you navigate systems of care through case management and care coordination, and I’ve mentored new, seasoned, and future counselors, sharing guidance to strengthen the field of mental health. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
My goal is to walk alongside you, helping you build practical skills, foster resilience, and continue your journey with confidence, growth, and hope.
